ConduitCount

Material list for the job

Add each conduit run. The list adds them up: sticks, couplings, connectors, straps at code spacing and feet of wire for each size and color.

The list

  • 3/4" EMT conduit, 10 ft sticks9 sticks
  • 3/4" EMT set-screw couplings8 pcs
  • 3/4" EMT set-screw connectors2 pcs
  • 3/4" EMT straps
code minimum: within 3 ft of each end, then every 10 ft

  • #12 THHN/THWN-2275 ft
  • #12 THHN/THWN-2 green92 ft

Saved on this device only. Straps are the code minimum; many crews strap closer.

What the list assumes

  • Sticks are 10 ft, rounded up for each run.
  • EMT takes a coupling at every joint and a connector at each box. Bends are made with a bender unless you pick factory elbows.
  • PVC sticks come belled on one end, so straight joints need no coupling. Each factory elbow takes one coupling, and each box end a male terminal adapter.
  • Rigid and IMC sticks come with one coupling on them. Each box end gets a locknut and bushing.
  • Flex and liquidtight are counted in feet, with the waste added.
  • Straps follow the support rules: within 3 ft of each box and every 10 ft for EMT, rigid and IMC; PVC by size (Table 352.30); flex every 4-1/2 ft and within 12 in.
  • Wire is the run length plus what you leave at each box, for each conductor, plus the waste.
  • More than 360° of bends between pull points gets a warning (the bend rule).
